When Solomon was born, his mother became blind. His father was never in his life. His mother was a Christian and attended church. The church helped take care of them but they still didn't have enough money for school fees. At times, he and his mother would beg and sing for food and clothing. He had no shoes. It was during this time Pastor Francis discovered him. He put a lady in charge of making sure he and his mother had food and clothing. This was the first time he got flip flops. Then Pastor Francis took him into the children's home.
